Brief in the Afternoon

A Message From Iran

It’s June 21 in Iran, day 114 of the war. The war is not over. Our brothers and sisters in Lebanon are still under fire. In Iran, we have been on the streets, rallying every night from the beginning, to support the revolution and to prevent rioters and proxies of the West to start the war in another front; we are still on the streets. And if you actually were here in the streets among us, you would be able to clearly see that people are not in favor of ending the war; nobody is advocating for that, on the contrary; you would be able to see some people are openly advocating for going all the way and finishing “the” job; ending the occupation, once and for all. Right now unfortunately, if you listen to our politicians, specifically the ones you hear from them in the media, they are not necessarily representing that view; but expelling the U.S. forces from the region and finishing off the regime, are probably the least we must do in response to the assassination of our leader. Our politicians are a problem on our part, and we have to seriously work on this problem, because we already have paid a heavy price for it. For example, we didn’t block the strait of Hormuz to stop the genocide in Gaza, until we were forced to do it to stop “them” from bombing us…

Three days ago the memorandum of understanding was signed by our president. Instead of solving the problem once and for all, apparently they collectively have decided to kick the can down the road; and that’s probably why the speaker of Iran’s Parliament and head of the negotiating team has said “The winner in any agreement, is the one who is going to prepare better for the war, the day after”.

۱۰ years ago Seyed Ali Khamenei declared that the regime in Palestine will not see 25 years beyond that date In’sha’Allah; and less than 4 weeks ago his son, our leader, restated the same stance. We prefer it to be sooner than later, but no matter how long it takes, we are determined in termination of the regime.
